KONE elevator controllers don't need any special or proprietary diagnostic and programming tool. In fact, none exists. A simple computer with a communications program such as HyperTerminal is all you need, with a null modem cable. Actually, most configuration parameters are accessible and changeable from the CPU board's display, so one can mostly do without a computer at all.

KONE controllers don't have to be reset after a fixed time or a certain number of trips.

Kone lifts have a built in board that attaches itself to a lift and will only work with that lift and the number of starts are limited. It is called the KNS board. They will not sell this board to another lift company but they will sell it to the lift owner. Make sure you get an unlimited use unit. Contact www.konespares.com
