Door operators

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

I have been advised that the new KONEAMD door operator and door locking system is available from WITTUR as the 'Wittur AMD'.

Is this true? Is the door operator and locking system one in the same as the KONE AMD door system?

Wittur does make a copy of the AMD but both it and Kone version are a piece of crap. Buy a MAC operator from Wittur, you'll be better off.

Hi There, That Kone AMD is a great operator and is a custom design by Kone. There is a AC model for traction and a DC model for hydros. The old Mac operator is now controled by Kone. Wittur has closed its rep in the US. The Mac operator has a 104 and 105 board for closed loop and a modified 104 for jobs that need power on close during run.

I have several AMD's and they run great, easy to get to, good operation. Kone's got a good product.

FYI, Wittur is out of buisness in the US, however employees took over the old plant and continue to make the Kone/MAC products such as the AMD operator and MAC 104/105. The factory is in Arkansas and the companies name is Elevator Soulutions International, they have a Web site you can do the search with the name on Google and find it. They are a good company and the product support and engineering is far better then Kone ever provided.

The AMD is one tough operator. Obviously George isn't smart enough to figure out how to push the buttons. Probably an overweight serviceman.
