DMR selsyn motor clutch trouble

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

Hi There I recently worked on a selsyn motor gearbox assembly. I was getting to much slip on the selsyn gearbox clutch pulling on the chains. The one clutch plate on the bronze shaft that the main bearing ride on was worn and I used another unit as parts. I would like to know the best way to get the bronze shaft out without damage, do you press it out????,to change the oil seal and bearings and how to bond on a new clutch brake lining material to the bronze shaft. I put the parts back together and bench tested the clutch and scl solinoid and installed. It seems to work great and love the performance out of this older equipment but want to build up a spare gearbox. thanks Jim
