Help!!! I have a mce controller(frieght car) that keeps giving me a BRK FAIL fault. This is causing 2-3 shutdowns a day. Any idea were the problem lies??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does this controller use the ge relay for picking the brake? Also does the job have a brake economizing contact to reduce the voltage once the brake picks?

Donald....Change the brake IGBT that is located next to the swing panel. Are you getting any redundancy faults also??

Brake fail fault

Check the brake switch. If it malfunctions (old age, misadjustment, etc.), it will fault out. Cheers! S.
