I have a Otis gearlessjob with 6850 selector, I had a shutdown there on friday and the brush leads on the generator were burn't right off on the positive poles replaced the brushes and the car runs fine Anyone have an idea why this could have happened?

YES .DEPENDING ON WHICH TYPE OF BRUSHES YOU PURCHASED.EITHER THE HOLDER SPRING IS FAILING.NO TENSION AT A CERTAIN POINT!OR THE MANUFACTURER IS A POOR GRADE...131HT MACHINE?
