Go to the "Administration" heading under the "Older Messages (by category)" section.

First go to the top of the page you want to link to, highlight it, then right click to COPY. Think that the link is now "in" your mouse. Next go to the page(like this one) you want to attach the clickable link. Next type: All you have to do is move the curser in the middle of the two quote marks ("") and right click and PASTE in the link which is "in" your mouse. Next move the curser to the middle of the >< marks and type in the word you want to use for example CLICK HERE, LINK etc. Press submit then the link word will be HIGHLIGHTED and be able to be clicked on after you submit it. Hope my ramble helps. Try it to this posting to see if it makes sense for you.

I typed in the HTML code and I guess as the system is "trained" to do it disappeared. Go to Administration as Chris suggested it is there. Good luck

I have to be the dumbest person here as far as computers are concerned and even I can make links following Tony's instructions. one trick that I did was to put the HTML template on my e-mail program in the "DRAFTS" section. When I want to make a link, I open that draft, copy and paste the web address, type in some introductory narrative (like you are reading now), hit spell check, and copy and paste the entire page to the forum. When I exit my e-mail program, I DON'T save, so that HTML template is there for my next link.

I made a link to Tony's tutorial:

"Dumbest", Al ? Hardly so. "Nicest" could come closer.

Helpful contribution !

Just a tiny note, but something I myself think is important and useful.
  1. Copy as described above the real name of the thing you want to make linkable.
  2. Now paste it in your posting (with or without quotation marks). E.g. the posting's title here "clickable links".
  3. Finally, copy the URL itself and handle it accordingly e.g. as with Netscape Communicator's Composer. To be consistent with most things, underline that URL and colour it blue, too. Maybe put that URL in parentheses. E.g. (http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=007w Yd)
That's the way everything official here in the whole forum looks. E.g. your own name and e-mail address at the end of your posting's question.

Wait! I'm just telling you this because I think that this typing out of the real name of the thing you want to link us to (plus its URL) is always better than simply typing "Click here" or whatever. If you do only that instead, and I copy the whole posting (e.g. in WORD or an Editor) then I never have a readable citation of the source. Neither the posting's title, nor it's URL.
