Hydro noise

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

I have two Hydros 3 stops 150 FPM with 2 in pipe, freeman mufflers, machine room 1 floor below lowest landing. Pipe run about the same. One has a Blain valve the other was changed and has a Maxton valve Same Cap. Same elevator but for the valve. Ouestion is the one with the Blain valve is very loud when riding the car you can here the oil in the hoistway like you were in the Machine room? Is it the valve?

Answers

Steve, what is the pump output (GPM) here?

Or, what is the diameter of the plunger?

Is the pipe schedule 40? 80? 120?

Noise in the up, down, both?

Identical cars?
