"Pinkrock",

While looking for something else entirely, I came across your post and questions on Question for Hardliner .

First, let me apologize for not responding sooner. I have been up to my eyeballs in alligators lately, and busier than a one-armed paperhanger. Because of that, I haven't spent a lot of time on the forum (at least compared to what I used to) and I don't get to see all the threads much less participate in them. I'd like you to know that I did not "blow you off", but simply missed your thread entirely until tonight.

Rather than say again much that I have previously written here, and to provide you with the best answers to your concerns that I know of on this forum, let me point you to an earlier discussion of many of those issues. IMO, two of the very best minds that have ever posted here, "E. Coli" and "Runway Cat", offer thoughtful and perceptive analysis along with many contributions by others, myself included.

The thread is called !!!Everything We've Uncovered Is True !! FEMA vs Homeland Command, and is quite long and detailed.

As I've said, my time is quite limited these days, but if you have comments or remarks after taking all that in, please post them here, and I will attempt to watch out for them.

Answers

Thanks, Hardliner. I thought you might be busy. I'll digest this mega-thread and get back to you. I'll post it under 'Military' topics again, as it's not too busy these days.

Godspeed,

You may also consider going into the archives under military and ctrl+f 'ing for martial to find a thread titled "A Few Facts and Opinions on Martial Law". Equally long, ansd heavily thought out.

Well, I've spent the last 2 hours rereading that 'thread,' and my eyes are burning. I've said it before, I'll say it again: some day, I hope, some archivist will be able to go through all these posts and cull out material for a multi-volume 'History of the Fin de Siecle.' It'd be a damn good read. But I have this to say to Hardliner: you should sit down and write a book, yourself. Title: "Pride." You're a darn good righter (oops, writer!) and such a work would be invaluable in an age of drifting principle. Just a thought.

Off the top of my head:

favorite E. Colism { from the 'bugs in my beans and rice thread', re: nuclear war {paraphrased}}

'I just love when they call it an 'exchange'. It makes it seem like Christmas...'

Hardliner:

I hate to sound like a suck-up sycophant (so I will leave out the adulatory adjectives), but my respect for you has definitely been ratcheted up a couple more notches. You've just about pegged the ol' Respect-o-meter.

My time, too, is severely limited these days; I have several mission-critical systems I am bringing on-line for my family, loved ones and neighbors, so I have little time for idle chit-chat, fascinating as it may be. I must keep my comments brief, but hopefully not entirely superficial.

I am actually quite encouraged after reading your reference thread. Not about the gravity of the situation, but about the dynamics.

The polarization in this Country continues to strengthen. Stresses of this type will continue to build, until they are acommadated by a strain. You are absolutely correct in your statement that (paraphrasing) 'we have a historical model for this situation in the Civil War.' Many of these stresses are descendants of those that triggered that conflict (strain); Federal hegemony being the most obvious. The rise and ascendancy of the Welfare State being the most dangerous and destructive to Liberty.

My main question is: Where will the rift occur? Obviously, TPTB have the numbers (the sleeping masses and the 'recipiants') on their side. Who will we have on our side? After analyzing your thread, I must conclude that at least there is hope that a (debatable) portion of the military will side with and stand for the Constitution, in its original form and intent, as so eloquently stated by its framers.

This gives me hope. This, plus your graphic image of the Federal bureaucracy lying on its side, twitching; blood hemorhaging from its eyes and earholes.

Remember, People: The Revolutionaries who founded this country were not the majority, they were the twenty percent of "extremeists" who did the right thing. They pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for Liberty and Justice for ALL.

Godspeed,

For those of you who wish to read it, here's the link to the thread, A Few Facts & Opinions about Martial Law.

Thanks, again, Hardliner. Couldn't find that thread yesterday. Will read and think more today.

Our lives and our posterity are truely in your, and your brother officer's, hands. You are here for us, and we are here for you. Together, we possess the power to ensure that the Constitutional framework is upheld (restored?), and emerges intact through the coming upheaval.

I have heard that in the Service (I'm sorry, I don't know if it is the Marines or the Army) you have a saying that defines your mission as being able to: "Shoot, Move and Communicate." Out here in the West we have a similar creed: "Ride Hard, Shoot Straight and Tell the Truth." Some of us still hold to these words.

There is iron in your words, Hardliner, for all to see. Those with eyes and ears and a brain capable of thought can also perceive The Black Lie woven so artfully by your civilian Chief.

The outcome depends heavily on you and your brethren, Sir.

Godspeed,
