Do you know of anyone that would be interested in having a "meeting" like some of the other regions have.

Southern California Anyone?

This has to be the Capital of Y2K oblivion. Surely there are a few other SoCal TB2000er's that would be interested in meeting each other in person (No weapons please). Speak up and be counted!!

I'd love to get together with anyone from MN. E-mail is real. I live in the central part of the state.

-- luann (flataufm@hutchtel.net), June 15, 1999.

My family & I live in the Twin Cities area, Minnesota. We are definitely looking for nearby GIs to be in touch with for mutual assistance. Look at my website (About The Author) for further info about us. www.y2ksafeminnesota.com

-- MinnesotaSmith (y2ksafeminnesota@hotmail.com), June 15, 1999.

SgtSchultz, I have a few others in the area who answered my post for St. Louis GI's, maybe we can all get together. As for the rest of you folks, thanks for chimin' in. For any of you not useing a real email address, you can get one free at any number sites that will enable you to keep your privacy. Try USA or Hotmail. Once you do that drop me a line and I'll try to coordinate something. I believe that "Will continue" is in eastern Kansas...he might be interested in joining or helping with ideas.

-- MidwestMike_ (midwestmike_@hotmail.com), June 15, 1999.

Iben, I'd show.

-- Carlos (riffraff1@cybertime.net), June 15, 1999.

Iben, count me in too.

There just have to be more GI's in the midwest! Those of you in the St. Louis area will be interested in this one. After checking out the OFFICIAL St. Louis web site and finding ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING on y2k I contacted City Hall.... Guess what they did? They gave me the tel# of the IS Director of the City of St. Louis!! Apparently they don't even have a system in place to RESPOND to inquiries!! Just fills me with confidence..how about you? Anyone want that tel#? My guess is that tel# will not be good much longer. I live in the Ballwin area (~20 miles west of Downtown) but have no where to "bugout" to in the country. Their is alot of open (relitivley) space Norhtwest and Southwest of us here but inorder to start we need someone with land. Also worth mentioning, gas price here has jumped $0.20 in the past five days, food prices have also gone up considerable. Any comments encouraged.

Another way to locate y2k-concerned people in your area is to go to: http://www.webpal.org/list.htm Find your State/Province. Read a list of contacts there. Find the State TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) Leader/Coordinator. Email him/her and ask for the email addresses of other people in your area.

G'head. Synergy is a good thing for us all just about now.

-- Faith Weaver (suzsolutions@yahoo.com), June 15, 1999.

Correction to my post: Gas prices have jumped $0.15 not 20. Food prices have DEFINATLEY jumped, I find myself staring at the bill when I leave the local Schnucks grociery store. God love ALDIES! I might as well finish this babbeling before I hit the pool. I'm putting out a request for a non-polly: If you have a location in Missouri (or S.E. Il.) you consider defendable come catastrophe', please contact me or someone else on this thread. We need (for want of a better word) a "Base Camp". This would be a good deal for you as well as us, Multiple assets, Mulltiple talent..ALL with the same goal. I'm not talking about a commune or "militia". We do need to band together. We will all have something to contribute. Pollies are waking up, which is good but, lets get prepaired before the prices hit the roof. It's coming, I can feel it, and my guess you can also....

MidwestMike - I'd love to get together. I'm in southcentral Kansas. Might be able to help with some transportation for willcontinue and y2kfallback weather permitting (little airplane, no instrument rating). How about July?

-- Dave (dwood@southwind.net), June 15, 1999.

Great Dave! Put my E-address in your book. My dual boot NT/98 is givin' me trouble, I'm gonna have to dump a new image on it and I'm concerned I might lose some stuff. All of you out there that are interested in this make a shortcut to the. The way things are going at TB2k the active thread won't last after tomorrow. I will keep the same email address.

midwestmike_@hotmail.com This IS encourageing, GBA!

Lets Do It!

Not to break up the makings of a good thread but the thread below has alot of the members locations.

ROLL CALL, PLEASE (correction to my previous question)I

-- Brian (imager@home.com), June 15, 1999.

Thanks Brian, I'm aware of that thread, I have a shortcut to it actually. This thread is directed toward those of us in the midwest. We are trying to effect a get-together inorder to plan/develope a plan for survival. We have much to offer each other. Can you contribute?

Mike

-- MidwestMike_ (midwestmike_@hotmail.com), June 15, 1999.

Indiana....I'd try. What are the goals??

-- Moore Dinty moore (not@thistime.com), June 15, 1999.

I hesitate to jump in, but you guys are getting close to me- I'm in Springfield Mo. Would really like to be included in or aware of a group of us near enough to connect. I've hoped we could start to do this - thanks, Mike. My only GI connections so far are 2 to 6 hours away. Anybody closer?

-- Scat (sgcatique@webtv.net), June 15, 1999.

MidwestMike, I think "will continue" may be a woman. I think I read something about being a beautician? Or maybe it was hair-dresser? Can't remember the exact remark, but I got the impression that it might be a woman. And if it's the beautician who has been around for awhile, her name starts with an M. ??? :-)

-- Gayla Dunbar (privacy@please.com), June 15, 1999.

Scat,

Thanks' my freind, this is probably the most important descision we have ever made. Please continue to follow this thread. NO, your location is not a problem, I intend "graphing" all respondants to determine the most convenient location for all. In the event you are unable to partake we'll organize another meeting in your local.

Don't get disheartend, we will prevail. "We must hang together or we will most assuredly hang alone" I will attribute that to W.S.Churchill......I could be wrong..

Dop me a note... Lookin' for some help...and you know who you are...

-- MidwestMike_ (midwestmike_@hotmail.com), June 15, 1999.

Gayla:

"Will continue" has posted about PMS, her hubby and absence of testicles. Sie ist ein Weibschen.

MWM: Ben Franklin

-- curtis schalek (schale1@ibm.net), June 15, 1999.

MidwestMike and the rest of you on this thread. I may be "paranoid" but I'm going to remain secret as long as possible. If you met me you'd say "that is a real DGI". This is my life, I'm responsibe for a few others around me. The senerio I see is not at all healthy for anyone the rest of the world knows has made any preparations [food, etc.] I want to stay alive, and the fewer people know I am prepared the better my chances are. and I do mean "period" ---"period"

-- thinkIcan (thinkIcan@make.it), June 15, 1999.

Me ---- "I am paranoid" DO NOT TRUST "ANYONE"!!!

-- thinkIcan (thinkIcan@make.it), June 15, 1999.

thinkIcan, Whoops Shania's on the radio again, god I love listening to her!hum..humm...Ok kay. I know Will continue is in the hair business. I respect her opinion male or female. As far as identifying our posters I think that is wrong. I don't mean to imply anyone was stooping to that, it's just that we don't do it. If anyone has an overwhelming urge to voice their opinion go ahead and mail me. It will be excepted with a smile and promtley deleted. We all have to function in our "real" lives and I for one will not permit intrusion. All are welcome here, please join us. Respect our rights. Thank you,

Mike

-- MidwestMike_ (midwestmike_@hotmail.com), June 16, 1999.

Curtis,

Thanks, you are correct, that quote belongs to Benjamen Franklin, I believe it was said around the time of the "Continental Congress": "We must hang together or most assuredly we will hang apart".

Oh well...ya gotta try eh?.

-- MidwestMike_ (midwestmike_@hotmail.com), June 16, 1999.

Midwest Mike

I live on the west coast of Canada, long way from the flat lands :o) Good luck on a get together though. We should have a method of getting folks together if they wish. The problem is that folks don't go through all the threads and may miss something like this.

-- Brian (imager@home.com), June 16, 1999.

I'm in Missouri at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Scat, I get to Springfield frequently; I have neices living there and it's also the closest Sam's to me. Maybe we could get together for lunch. Do you like Chinese? We could meet at one of the chopstick houses on Battlefield Road. May I email you?

-- gilda (jess@listbot.com), June 16, 1999.

Eastern Nebraska here. Would like a get together with Gi from this region.

-- ve (tryinhard@hotmail.com), June 16, 1999.

-- steve (basscatcher5@hotmail.com), June 16, 1999.
