- I really don't like to make bread by hand, sooooooooooooo I pluged the old bread maker into the power inverter. (800 watt model) Bread machine is rated at 550 watts.

- Cooking starts with building a substantial fire in the oven with hardwood. When the bricks reach a temperature of about 700 degrees F, the fire, coals and ashes are removed. Food is then cooked by the heat in the bricks.

- When reading the instructions on my new pressure cooker, I was disappointed to find that cooking beans is "never reccomended", because they tend to foam and block the vent, and then, look out!
