Peter Molloy of TransAlta Corp.(peter_molloy@transalta.com) recently asked if I had any insights to the likely wholesale to retail differentials (margins) that will be relevant to futures planning. I was able to share back a copy of our gas bill that breaks out "transport charges" which include (a) residential customer charge and (b) local delivery charges. I also shared an article from the Boston Globe for 3/1/98 (first day of reregulation) that contained a pro forma Boston Edison bill that did something similar ,but the focus of the article was "wat do these #s mean?" For the time being (without real competition) these are "made up" #s that result from interpreting and implementing the reregulation "bargain" struck with the legislature. Would these items be useful to others?
