What I was wondering is how do the professionals get their landscapes to solid (ie: the clouds) where as my prints are always to light on the gray scale. Even with proper filters, is it special equiptment, lighting, developing techniques? Can you help me?

Paul, are you talking color or B&W images? We need a bit more info to try & help with our opinions for answers.
