Type B Safety Stopping Distances with Full Loadgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread |
In a situation where we have less than the minimum slide or greater than the maximum slide, what's the most efficient fix to correct this? Also, do we have any leeway for human error (%, etc.)on this or maximum governor tripping speeds? Help !

I am curious as to the manufacturer of the safety in question. The spring pressure determines the amount of slide, so I adjust same to obtain the desired slide. Now my question is, "What should the slide be set to"? I prefer to set the full load slide in the upward end of the allowable distance to reduce the stopping force that would be experienced by passengers. Your comments are encouraged. Vern
