How come Poe did not earn positive critiques from the newsletter "The Messenger"?

u might think i am incorrect if I say my age but I am 12 years old and i love poetry. Critics these days are very strict. Especially back then(no offense!). They probably thought it would look bad to some people if they gave positive feedback on "negative" poems like his. I love his poems and if i was a critic and if he was still alive i would have given him many positive feedbacks, In my opinion.
