REAR SHOCK ?

hi, just had my first ride of the year after winter lay-up. the rear shock didnt seem right,i felt it bottoming out on a bumpy stretch that it never used to. think theres a problem with the preload. is the unit rebuild-able thanks

Dont think there rebuild-able mate ! you checked everything else ? winter plays funny tricks on settings and air pressures ! failing that there was mint ohlins unit on ebay !!! dont know if its still there but ooooh was she nice !!!

The fluid may have leaked out of the shock. I had to have mine replaced.

If it's still cold where you are the oil may not have warmed up when you felt it bottom out. If the oil is cold the damping can be too severe and cause the shock to pump down until it bottoms out.

The rear is re-buildable, but it would have to be done by someone who can re-charge the nitrogen. Several of the suspension companies can do them.
