Prior to joining Zipcar, we owned a car and were AAA members for the towing and lock- out coverage, which we unfortunately used a few times. We've held onto it (about $125/yr) and are wondering whether it's needed with Zipcar. It's never happened to me yet, but what if a car gets stuck or something? Is there any towing coverage? Can Zipcars be unlocked remotely if keys and Zipcard are locked in?

Call them up and they send a signal to open the doors. They did it for me, no problem.
