Ooo! You must be extremely tiny for a human. I figure that you are probably extremely tiny if that snail was on your chest. Wow. I'm glad you got it off your chest.

Do you feel guilty about killing plants or animals in order to eat?

If I get too sensitive about things, I may start feeling guilty for breathing microbes that float in the air. Or worse, imagine all those microbes that get killed when we bathe. Ok.......I'm getting depressed now.

i said i didn't need to hear the insults, [Insult deleted].

-- (Censored) ((censored)@(censored).net), March 04, 2005.

anyway, i dont care about killing for a reason. this snail had no reason to die. it was just their. it wasn't the biggest deal to me, it wasn't like i had murdered someone in cold blood. i just stepped on a snail, but it was one of gods creatures. I'm a tiny person? im not the one throwing insults at someone i dont even know. your the tiny for that [Insult deleted].

-- (Censored) ((censored)@(censored).net), March 04, 2005.

I know that you didn't want to hear any insults. You might not want to read the posts out loud next time or cover your ears while reading, you wonderful person you. Oh, that wasn't an insult, but you took it as such. So, tell me. What else bugs you?

Hey, Snail Killer.

We are all tiny people. My point is that it is easy for our lives to get snuffed out just like that tiny snail. It isn't a big deal to you that the snail got killed. Well, just the same, only a handful of people will give a hoot when we pass on to the next life. Then, they'll forget about us all the same. Tiny? How many people have walked the earth prior to our existence? How many more will exist after we are long gone? We are like snails. To our society, we have different degrees of significance. That snail you killed probably had a family....or not. You snail killer!

I'm puzzled as to why you even bothered to say anything about your murderous rampage on such smaller lifeforms? Anyway, I'll stop dead in my tracks for ant crossings. But, who knows how many bugs I've killed while cruising down the long winding roads of America? We ain't talking tiny numbers anymore.

Ok......I agree. You aren't Tiny. I spoke with the snail right before she died. She told me, "He ain't tiny!"

But, I'm still wondering how the snail got on your chest?

Ok.....the snails got into selling snails for labor. They loaded them up on this big boat and shipped them off to other lands. The boats were heavy with livestock--escargo

Ok....not funny.

You mean that he isn't one of PUNKER's friends?

i don't think so

-- sdqa (sdqa@sdqa.Com), March 04, 2005.

Actually, the main reason for me replying to this thread is because of my gosh-darn-fed-up-depressed-mood after engaging with this upside down society. I work around liars, theives, and immoral people. It would be nice to live and work in a "good" environment. The snail, in this discussion, is a metaphor of my existence in this society. We are gradually getting stepped on and squashed by those in power. They have power because they are such beautiful people. It isn't because they try to do right. The morally conscienced people are victims of dem sons of belial!

I'm tired. That poor snail isn't.

I would enjoy a few months with these power-people on a deserted island. Eye to eye, mano a mano, wits to wits, and see if they can take doing the "right" thing. They wouldn't last.

Hey Rod, i think its better to feel ..depressed about the way the world is, than to feel nothing for it..

It shows what kind of a person you are. :)

Im feeling that way too. Lately ive been wanting to get out of this country and go live in a remote village, where simplicity is.

Thats what life should be about - simplicity, love for every living being and everything in nature. Not this.. the way it is now. Its sad how people would end themselves because their stock market went down, because they gambled way too much, or maybe because they think they lost a special someone.. but its not hard to see why, since people can remember, theyve been surrounded by the "ideal" life.. romance with a happy endings "ever"... MTV and music videos, careers.. Money, money, money.. "being cool" "Bigger and Better"... etc, etc. but life isnt about that.

And "censored" - Dont worry about the snail. Living creatures, other than humans, dont have to worry about where they will go after death.. They're innocent by nature. I believe each souls will return to God. So i can tell you that the snail is off to a better place. :) it would probably thank you for ending its miserable life of dragging itself everywhere and worrying if it'll be stepped on anytime. :P

Ehh. I wouldnt work for the govt. Their right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing. That pisses me off. And its just sad how the govt tenaciously controls society.

And sqda, u were close. :P

I am the bottom guy of the totum pole of public education--a teacher. Well, I'm a music educator. That's not a real teacher by some standards, yet we are called to teach other subjects when the students don't pass their exams. We "specialty teachers" are Jacks of Many Subjects.........yes, and masters of few, as the old saying goes.

Most of my gripes stem from having children in the public schools. As a parent, I see the other side of the big educational process.

You know? We can find these people everywhere. I got involved with this non-Catholic church and had my eyes opened. I thought that because those church-people were "Christians", they would exhibit a high degree of morallity. Nope. Some, not all, are simply pleasant and smiley-faced people with those same little back stabbing traits. Honest and "good" people are hard to find. Once you find them, treasure them with great joy and value. Please don't think that I am only refering to non-Catholics. I have found mendacity in all walks, careers, and denominations. Hey, we're all sinners. I'm just tired of having to deal with the blackness of sin. I need air. I need light. I need to take SDQA's advice and kick some carcasses. It is close to impossible to change negative attitudes into positive ones in old dogs and adults. I guess this is why I chose to remain in the school systems as a teacher. I can make a difference in the youths of my culture, society. But, somedays are really tough on the soul.

Well, thats what life is about..

"Then a woman said, Speak to us of Joy and Sorrow. And he answered: Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. And how else can it be? The deeper that sorrow carves in your being, the more joy you can contain. is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven? And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood that was hollowed with knives? When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy. When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight. Some of you might say, "Joy is greater than sorrow," and others say, "Nay, sorrow is the greater." But I say unto you, they are inseperable. Together they come, and when one sits alone with you at your board, remember that the other one is asleep upon your bed. Verily you are suspended like scales between your sorrow and your joy. Only when you are empty are you at standstill and balanced. When the treasure-keeper lifts you to weigh his gold and his silver, needs must your joy or your sorrow rise or fall.

-Kahlil Gibran-

Oh, so beautiful.. -_-

-- temple (jahsmine@netzero.com), March 04, 2005.

I dont think you would have to kick some carcasses in order to get some light and fresh air. :P

Go outside, sit on the grass, look up at the sky, watch the clouds change, watch birds fly around and around if theres any - I love watching birds.. very peaceful. Take good deep breaths and meditate. I meditate more than i pray. Mainly because God already knows what i need.. i dont have to think about it, but i like to cleanse myself.. wash the unwanted feelings away. I dont mediatate with certain sounds.. I just listen to how i breathe ..and try not to think of anything at all. Absolutely no words, just.. peace.

And just like that, you'll feel re-freshened.

If its not your style, at least break your routine if you havent. :) (sabbaths)

SNAILS! YUCK! A slug with a shell! Gross!!

My house was once infested with SLUGS! I found out when I reached into the doggie food bag to get a can of food, and YUCKO-BARF .. I GRABBED A SLUG!

I had to call into work and tell them I was "salting" them (that will shrivel up a snail in a nanu-second). When I got to work my beloved "co-workers" had newspapers articles, comic strips, and magazine pictures depicting the slimy little stinky crawly things ALL OVER my work station.

Good going, "Snail Killer" YOU-GO-GUY . . . OR GAL!

"this guy's worse than punker!"

Come on I always thought Punker or (PUNKER) was funny. Sometimes I didn't know if he was sincere in some of his questions or just having fun. Either way I like people who can rattle the Holiness out of Holy people. It's show a rest test of how Holy they really are. NOT!
