why is it necessary to create a balance between economic development and preserving the rain forest??? PLEASE, help me~! I do not understand this question..I am japanese and i really need help~!

u got an odd question in this anime thread. u got this question from watching some anime or just out of curiosity?

to b frank, u can get the answer to this question very easily by just reading environmental and economics magazines ... the answers to them are just everywhere.

we need to preserve the environment [not only the rainforest] coz we obtain natural resources from the environment. natural resources like wood, fish and etc. we use these resources not only to survive but also in trade, that's where economics comes in. but the problem now we, humanity faces is we use too much of these resources that they got not enough of time to replenish, which is why we have problems like species extinction like sharks almost on the brink of extinction.

the driving force behind economic development is natural resources.. if we keep on extracting natural resources from the environment without considering the time needed for this resource to replenish .. we r all in deep trouble.. coz this means .. we will be lacking of resources to survive.. not only that .. economic growth will be affected coz of lack of resources to produce goods and services.

all in all, a balance between economic development and preserving the environment = sustainable development..
