FOR TC, A QUESTION ABOUT THE INDULT MASS AND ENGLISH

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Ask Jesus : One Thread

TC, I do have a question.I'll Keep it simple.

woudk you mind a Traditional Indult Mass, except tranlated into English, or whatever the langusag of the peopel of a given region?

Not a Novos Ordo Mass, but a Mass in the vernacular, but EXACLTY like a Latin Mass as stipulated by Trent, except translated into the Vernacular.

Zarove;

I would not mind a traditional mass in the vernacular if it is precisely like the Latin.

However I would mind if the priest was ordained in the new 1968 rite. Nowhere does it mention that he received the power to offer sacrifice, or for that matter the power to forgive sins. He is not a priest.

Further ,if the bishop who ordains him was consecrated in the new rite, he cannot confer the sacrament of Holy Orders on the priest.

The new rite for bishops (around 1968) , leaves out the power to ordain. So You end up with a bishop who does not have the power to ordain, and a priest who does not have the power to offer sacrifice.

So the mass in English or Latin does not really matter.

If the priest was ordained before 1968, the vernacular would be valid in the mass.

The form and matter was used for at least 1400 yeas, and Pius XII reconfirmed in his papacy.

If a baby is baptized with words other than those used, it would not be validly baptized. Words matter.

If you don't say them it is not to be taken for granted.

And Zarove; I do believe that animals are in Heaven. I would volunteer to care for then.

Thanks TC, as a nod form the other board, where I am currently allowed to be attacked, and where Animals must lack mmortal soisl as soem ( Cough cough) have infallabely decreed it, and now can speak for the Chruch.

But I think none will need carign for, sicne in Heaven, Animals will be cared for by God. As St.Fransis said.

So, what do the SSPX use for ordination, by the way?

Does anyone use the pre-1968 Ordinal?

Zarove; I guess that you are correct. I thought that I might be working with St. Francis.

Yes the SSPX, SSPV. CMRI, all ordain in the old pre-1968 rite. No traditional would use the new rite. some are even re-odained when they come over from the novus odo.
