Bostonian Renting In D.C. (with problems)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : zipcar : One Thread

I live in Boston but I am reserving a Zip car in D.C. I noticed two fundamental problems that could be solved easily. I would love a response, thoughts.

1. I notice there is no built in map (blast, quest, etc.) in the website. Being from Boston I like that you give me directions to the car but I’d love directions to the location I'm traveling to. All wrapped up in the reservation process (as an option) and on the final reservation sheet (that I print out and bring with me).

2. You can’t find D.C. rate specials if you’re logged in. The only way is to sign out and then search around, get the D.C. rate specials and then log back in. NOT COOL!

Thoughts?

1. If you click on the name of the car, you get both directions and a map of the parking location. (currently, I don't know if this is a recent addition)

2. The hassle of logging off and on is NOT COOL. This should be easy to fix by adding a pull-down or a link page to the specials zone.

3. Please send "fix this, please" comments to info@zipcar.com in the future. This is a forum for the sharing of ideas among members.

Thanks J. Allen,

Appreciate your responce.

Actually, regarding #1, what we're talking about and have mentioned to ZipCar is a map service once you have your car. A map service that gets you from point Zip to point destination. You mention the map locating the car. That isn't the focus. But thanks for letting new members know about the map that auto. pops up at the the time of reservation.

ZipCar has mentioned this forum is fine for bringing up experiences, problems and the sort. Please, ZipCar, correct me if I'm wrong and J. Allen is correct.
