Encoded Avi to DVD,..Burned DVD,,,All I Get is Audio,,NO VIDEO??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I recently encoded an AVI movie to DVD using DVDSanta,..the file seems to have encoded fine. I then burned the DVD file using Nero and followed all the steps in the videohelp.com guide. Nero says it burned successfully,,..but when I insert it in my DVD player, all I hear is the audio. I get no video whatsoever. I then inserted the disc in my PS2,.. and I get the same results. I also tried it in my PC and I get the same results as well. Both my Toshiba DVD Player and my PS2 recognize the disc as being a DVD. But I only get audio,..no video. Isn't it suppose to be the other way around?? Any suggestions??

Your post is off topic for our forum, which is about VCDs, not converting DivX to DVD. I know nothing about DVDSanta. Never heard of it. My best guess is that the original DivX either uses an audio codec not on your PC (maybe OGG) or it uses an audio codec DVDSanta can't convert. http://www.dvdrhelp.com has some guides on converting from AVI that might be useful to you.
