Battalion in Iraq asks for prayer during the elections

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

The fifth district prayer chain 1,200 prayer warriors, received this prayer request. I am asking that you pray for this battalion and pass this prayer request on to other prayer warriors. Thanks, Denise

Here is a prayer request that was e-mailed to me from a friend. Please have all prayer-warriors lift their voices up to God in prayer for these men and women that stand on the wall and guard us with their own lives. Special Prayer Request: My name is Lyle Shackelford and I am a Chaplain in Iraq. As a transportation battalion, my unit will be delivering the voting machines and the ballots to villages and cities throughout Iraq during the upcoming elections. (January 30/31) Our convoys are prime targets for the insurgents because they do not want the equipment to arrive at the polling stations nor do they want the local Iraqi citizens to have the chance to vote; timely delivery must occur so that the elections occur. Encourage your friends and family members and those within our churches to pray for us and specifically for the electoral process. I will pray with my soldiers before they leave on their convoys and move outside our installation gates here at Tallil. My soldiers are at the nerve center of the logistic operation to deliver the voting machines and election ballots. They will be driving to and entering the arena of the enemy. This is not a game for them it is a historical mission that is extremely dangerous. Your prayer support and God's intervention are needed. Thank you for reading this e-mail. Please give this e-mail a wide dissemination. Thank you for your prayer support for me and my family. Stand firm in your battles. Blessings, CH (CPT) Lyle Shackelford Battalion Chaplain HHD, 57th Transportation Battalion Providing With Mobility "Keep Em Moving" Saints, lead to quote 1 John 5:4 over this whole situation. "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith." We thank YOU LORD for being this Battalion's Jehovah Nissi, their banner of protection and deliverance. We shout out loud, The 57th Transportation Batallion shall overcome because they are covered by the blood of the Lamb. In the Name of JESUS we surrender them to YOU!
