hey im 13 years old and i am building a go kart. i live in a place called trinidad (its an island off the coast of venezuala but we speak english here) and there isnt much go karts here. i want to know a way to stop my go kart i.e. home made brakes. if any has any ideas it would be apreciated

I am building a gokart for my A-Levels at school( the corse you take when youre 16-18). The break i have made for it consists of a bike break which rubs against a wheel. I have pictures which will be avalable when its done (about a month), and i have a drawing i can send to you if you e-mail me.
