Question of the Day

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Community Anime Reviews : One Thread

Okay ppl, this is a simple question, so feel free to answer it. There is something called direct download which lets u download anime episodes or movies at a fast rate but u recieve poor video quality and then there is the torrent files which give excellent video quality but the files take too long to download. Now this is a tricky question so put on your smart hat, Byside this two option is there no middleman, i mean something that lets u download anime files at a okay speed with high video quality?

SO there is the question, i would advice u ppl to take your time in answering this question, because this might probably be the hardest question u will ever answer in this message board.

You can get very high quality downloads over a direct download connection. Most sites offer their media in *.rm or *.rmvb format, which is just mediocre quality. It isnt the type of download connection, it is the type of tile that determines the quality of the media. If you want a fast download, and high quality, then find a site that has direct download *.avi files. Those are the highest quality you can get without having a DVD-rip file.

typo above...it should have read:

"it isnt the type of connection, but the type of 'file' "

ONe good site is:

www.animeotaku.info

you have to register and then submit 10 non-spam posts to be able to download though. Another thing that you can do is go to:

www.ao-rebirth.tk

Dont download from the full episodes page though... 75% of those files are *.rmvb files... instead, go to the staff page and email Konithomimo. He will let you know what files they have in *.avi files..and they have a really fast connectin speed :) Usually about 8 minutes for a 150MB file.

They are having a bit of trouble right now though, so your best bet if you want anything from that site is to donate. They have really good media, and if you dontate then they will find wht you want and put it in a folder that only you can access and download from. That way you dont have to download from 20 different sites to get what you want. They will download it and put it all into a folder for you. The more you donate the more they will be willing to put in your folder. I know that sounds bad, but they have been having some problems and cant afford to give out much free bandwidth anymore. Anyway, check them out.

DC++

Great quality files, you could get almost anything on a DC++ hub, and the download are all fast.
