Happy Birthday Marcia! Were you one of those deprived of presents due to the proximity to Christmas?

Happy Happy, Marcia! Hope you had a great day! How's things in your neck of the woods?

I was wondering if you've noticed any difference in your shoreline over the years, thinking about many folks making claims to such and its possible linkage to global warming?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, folks!! One of the things I got was a new keyboard. I've only been able to access my mail page, favorites folders and homepage news with my old keyboard for almost a month now. Really frustrating to read the mail and see all you guys "talking" and I couldn't get here!! Thanks for the birthday e-card, EM!

I haven't noticed much difference in our shoreline where I am, EM. Ever heard the expression "the rock-bound coast of Maine"? Well, that's where I am :-)! I'm sure that there's been some erosion in southern Maine where there are sandier beaches, though. One of the reasons we left Cape Cod 28 yrs. ago was because of erosion. Southern New England is slowly disappearing!!!

Sherri...yup, staying warm here...snuggled up to the woodstove!! We've been spoiled for most of the winter with 50* (sometimes 60*) weather, but the past week or so it's been in the single numbers during the day and minus numbers at night. Finally got a decent snowfall yesterday. Got 8 inches of "confetti" snow!! Joy...I was kinda deprived 'cause of my birthday in January. Which is why I planned my son's birthday for Dec. 20th. Now I can deprive him :-)!!!

Marcia, have you seen any changes in the water levels, or wildlife/sealife/fishing?

-- Anonymous, January 28, 2005

EM...haven't seen any changes with water level...but come to think of it, lobster habits have changed somewhat (at least during the time we've been fishing for them). From what I know, lobsters used to move into deeper, more open water during the winter months and come back into warmer waters by May or June. Now it seems that we're catching lobsters alot earlier in the season AND alot later in the season. Maybe 'cause the water warms up lots earlier and stay warmer longer??!! You've awakened my curiosity and I'm gonna do some research on the subject!!!!
