Was the Statue of Ganesh drinking milk proven unexplained by science?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

The Statues of Ganesh drinking milk, a phenomenon that was not only witnessed by tens of millions of people, it also happened many times at many different places.

So my question is this. Were these so-called miracles proven with the use of science as the Catholic Church does with Hers or did this phenomenon become popular amongst the Hindu following with just their faith and word of mouth?

There are many other miracles that have happened besides the miracles of Christians. But has anyone ever wittnessed a withered hand become normal when someone touches it and says "be healed?"

It wasn't a withered hand, but my Crohn's Disease of 18 years was healed when hands were laid on me during a healing service. And I know one woman who was healed of deafness in her right ear that had been an affliction for 20 years. Interestingly, though, all healing is only temporary: Lazarus had to die again! But they are powerful signs of Christ's real presence and activity in our lives.

On the other hand, just as I believe in angels, so I believe that fallen angels (demons) also exist. Just as there are true miracles of the Holy Spirit from Jesus, so there are false and lying "signs and wonders" from Lucifer. But my conscience and spirit revolt from Hindu gods, whereas they rejoice in the great deeds of the Lord. Deep down, we know which are true, and thousands of Christians have experienced this, as the holy Scriptures and Catholic Tradition attest.

There are thousands of things unexplained by science. Idols of the elephant drinking milk happened some years ago. One fine morning, especially in the cities of India, great number people of were seen queuing outside every temple with glasses of milk. A devout Hindu devotee, a friend of my brother also stood in the line and tried offering some milk, but he reported disappointingly the idol was not drinking any milk and I overheard his uncle say, "Just as I thought, it is some kind of hypnotism or something."

The next day, the report came in papers about this phenomenon, which was thought to have happened on even metal and glass, etc., and various scientists were trying to answer it like, because of porosity, etc. Another explanation was the roundness of the elephant god idols, and also its trunk it is tapered at the end and broaden as they go upwards. There must have some underlying thing that helped facilitate the natural property of cohesion and surface tension to move along the smooth surface. Once they reach the head, they slowly seep around the huge round body with the largest diameter at the belly. Indeed! After the phenomenon was over, one could see milk collected all round the idol on the floor.

In conclusion, this could be a well rehearsed fraud using natural phenomena in a very cunning way, which someone accidently stumbled upon. There are some Hindu fundamentalists who would to do anything to get attention of the people and steep them into superstitions of all sort. A rare explaination would be something spiritual, but not divine considering the fruitless effects and the loss of gallons of milk all over the country.
