belt buckel committe of vigilance 1856

I have a belt buckel from the committee of vigilance of 1856. It was made by tiffiany and has the name King on the back of buckel. i would like to know more about it and the value of it. thank you

In 1856 men wore suspenders (braces) to hold up their trousers, why would they need belt buckles? Although not all miners wore Levis, it should be noted that Levi added belt loops in 1922, and in 1937 the suspender buttons were dropped.
