How could i add subtitles to an avi then burn it to vcd

i have some vids that are in avi format and come w/ .idx & .sub files for the subtitles. how would i go about burning all these to vcd? im really new to this, and if this question was asked before im sorry.

Easiest way would be to use Virtualdub with the appropriate subtitle filters and re-write the .AVI as a lightly compressed .AVI, using something like the Huffy codec. Then use TMPGEnc to compress the .AVI to a VCD compliant MPG and burn it to a VCD.

This requires a lot of space and time, and is really beyond the limited space here. Check www.afterdawn.com, www.doom9.net and www.videohelp.com for more information on how to use these tools. It takes some time and effort to learn them, but what you want can be done.
