Anyway - From Mother Theresa

Mother Teresa hung a copy of this poem on a wall of the orphanage she founded in Calcutta. Its source is unknown.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be Kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis. it is between you and God; It is never between you and them anyway.

That's fantastic, Kiwi. There's something so wonderful about the little saint. Tell you about this other one; my departed friend Father Manuel Guillen, of San Bernadino/San Diego, California. I loved him dearly for his thunderous homilies and the devout Masses he celebrated, despite being 95% blind in both eyes. One of which was put out by somebody very cruel in his youth. He wore a black eye-patch, so I affectionately referred to him as Padre Pirata. ''Pirate Priest''.

My small dog was deathly ill over the New Year's holiday. He ingested something toxic during our New YrsEve party, probably chocolate. I thought last night he was going to die. You never saw anything more pathetic; he writhed in distress.

I prayed to my friend in heaven (I think he went straight up) to beg help for my Pup. Let him live, Dear Lord; and ask help and her holy intercession of Our Mother, Immaculate Virgin.< p>I won't go into greater detail but announce how much better the Boy is today. He gave us such a scare; but he's full of life again, thank God.

Thank you for your prayers, my Good Pirate! You answered me promptly, I say. Please salute Mother Theresa for us, and -- Amen.

Thanks Gene, I wish we had a few more "thunderous sermons" these days. I sometimes wonder if the sermon is a central part of the Mass, if the priest has nothing worthwhile to say....why bother saying anything at all? Speaking of dogs Im back at my parents place and they have just brought a dalmatian pup, very naughty little creature, spoilt bloody rotten but so full of life and fun. Ive defintely decided that much like needing a maid a man also needs a dog.
