poor response below 3000rpmgreenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread
Hello all, A friend's f4 1000 that has just done about 1500km,has a very poor throttle response when the bike is on gear with the clutch pulled.This does not happen when the bike is on neutral. Does anyone else has the same problem on their 1000? Thanks and regards,

It is not a "problem" that is the way the bike has been mapped. I think it is mapped this way for easier throttle control when going slow....like in traffic

I think that you mean when the clutch is pulled in and it is in gear? If so, your clutch needs to be bled out. Not sure if this is what you meant.

If this is in first gear that's because the power is limited. Its not a problem, its supposed to do that.

Thanks for all the answers guys.I think it's the way the ecu is programmed.I'm sure they have a reason for programming it like this.It is similar to the suzuki engines,where they retard the timing in the first 3 gears to make it easier for the rider to control the bike under hard acceleration. Yep thats exactly what they have done, only I don't think the bike/ecu knows what gear it is in, it just knows it is not in neutral, It is an "ignition retard" thing and not fuel because mine has a power commander fitted and is still the same, although the lack of being able to blip it on downshifts is now virtually fixed.
