Ingredients

1 Cup Shortening
2 Cups Sugar
2 Eggs
2 Cups Apple Sauce
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3 1/2 Cups Flour
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Cloves
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
3 teaspoons Baking Powder

(Nuts and Raisins - 1 Cup - Optional)

Process

Cream shortening and sugar; add well beaten eggs; sift flour and all the other dry ingredients together; stir into sugar - egg- butter mixture. Mix rest of ingredients thoroughly.

Bake in greased 13" x 9" pan at 350.
