Is there anyone with a German Shepherd sized dog (about 75 pounds) who uses zipcar with a carrier? And if so, what kind, and are there certain cars you can't fit it into?

check the Zipcar policies. You will find the following: "Smoking and pets are prohibited in Zipcars."Dogs aren't allowed in Zipcars.

Actually, you'll find that if you properly crate the animal, Zipcar will let you have the pet in the car. This is how I transport my cats when needed--cover the seat with a towel, and the carrier goes on the towel. This contains the pet hair and allows you to take your pet places (like the vet!).

There is one part of the site that does say pets are allowed if they are crated. I've gone in the zipcar near me and it was obvious someone hadn't bothered crating their pet. It doesn't bother me.One of the reasons I need zipcar's use is that I must bring my pet to the vet every once in a while, among other reasons. I crate her. We live in a city where their are pet owners that don't have cars. If they are like me, they are quite far from a vet. (I am not in Manhattan, where you can walk to one)
