i want to start a dc hub, only problem is, i need someone who has an extra computer that can leave it on for DAYS, preferebly monday-thru friday WITHOUT TURNING IT OFF. it needs to have at lease 256mb ram, 20gb hard drive space, and AT LEAST a dsl lite connection. THIS WILL BE REALY GREAT FOR OUR ANIME BOARD IF YUO GUYS COULD DO THIS. or, you could wait until the summer when i get my new comp and do this. your choice.

ps. if you don't know what "DC++" is search google

I find people asking to become moderators in forums, boards, and chatroom including dc hubs tend to abuse their powers more often than those who don't ask.

DC++ suck. Mirc is the way to go

Mirc is not as easy to use for noobs, so that's out. yo Bob, is the PC you are talkin abt. used by anyone the whole day?

-- Pearson (none@aol.com), November 18, 2004.

also, what are the specs?

-- Pearson (none@aol.com), November 18, 2004.

mirc is very easy to learn, it took me only 3 days to figure thing out

Mirc = ugly, DC++ = easy on the eyes

Kazaa...probably weren't using the cleaned version, that's the reason they were caught... I tried using WinMX, but it's just so...cold and unfriendly.

-- Cian Johnston (cianjohnston@hotmail.com), November 19, 2004.

There are 3rd party mirc addons that lets you customize appearance, even make them have a transparent background. I'm really confused as to why you said Mirc is ugly while you give praises to DC++ because their interface is the very similar. That's like calling Mary Kate ugly and Ashley Olsen cute.

-- ubb (demonreaper73@hotmail.com), November 20, 2004.

that's not the point. Even, Noobs can use DC++ NOT Mirc, SO, that makes DC++ better than Mirc for a choice to share files among our board. uub, Aren't you tired of telling people to use BT? yet they STILL want direct downloads. This post was a test to prove this, and, well... it worked. Most of the people of this board are probably under the age of 14 and don't want to try new programs or search on google.

-- Pearson (none@aol.com), November 21, 2004.

SOrry dude, but I'm with Pearson on this one. DC++ is easier to use. I (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) prefer it above MIRC.

once you learn how to use mirc, you can basic get anything you want

-- sam (ghomes_2@hotmail.com), November 22, 2004.

i disagree with you, once you learn how to use mirc, basicly, you get any anime you want

-- sam (ghomes_2@hotmail.com), November 22, 2004.

OK, Forget it that wasn't even the point. the point was: to show that the people that make up this board are too lazy or too set in their ways to use other programs besides direct downloads . Even if it is the only way to get the anime. No matter how desparate they are, they STILL won't try new things. i hope, ubb, that you will agree with me @ least on this .

to those of you guys that really wanted this, sorry, but i guess we'll have to wait until this board warms up to other p2ps.

Oh, well, can you let me know when you get it started???

info@smserve.co.za

Thanx dude.
