I just stumbled upon this great board.

I'm writing a paper on the history of burlesque in SF from the 1880s to the 1960s. It seems we never had a theater on the level of Minsky's here in SF as this is hard info to come by. I've got a lot about the Bella Union and a few other place during the Barbary Coast, but I'd love more info on Sally Rand's Music Box (now the Great American Music Hall) and the Victoria Theater in the Mission in it's burlesque incarnation as the New Follies. Info on hot girly spots of the 1920s and 30s would be greatlly appreciated as well!
