Possible solution for all asking the "Where can I find ..." questions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Community Anime Reviews : One Thread

There are thousands of IRC fileservers available on IRC anime channels, many of which have a huge variety of different series. Some are high-speed, some are slow, some have long waiting lines, some are firewalled. If you're willingly to look through them, or at least find a channel where you're allowed to use the @find command, you can probably find anything, and a lot faster than on the web in general.

True, but for many the only fast access to the net is via their work, where firewalls and the like stop them from using all but Http (and ftp) links.

a better solution for people is to look over previous topics. Why should people have to post the same links over and over again because someone is too lazy to look at the older topics?

I understand that, that's one reason I mentioned IRC. Even if someone is firewalled, they can still connect to an IRC fileserver, unless the fileserver is also firewalled, which is somewhat unusual. Many fan-sub groups have high-speed bots on their channels from which anyone can download releases, even if they are firewalled.
