If one has had 5-6 attacks of diverticulitis in the last few years, would that be a contraindication to having TKR? My attacks are always easily managed with antibiotics.

My concern would be if future attacks would be likely to cause an infection in an artificial joint.

Even though I have not previously considered colon surgery, should I have the problem area removed prior to having joint replacement surgey? Has anyone out there who has diverticulitis had joint replacement surgery, has it been a problem?
