REFERRAL PROGRAM - NO MORE?!?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : zipcar : One Thread

If you have referred a friend who joined Zipcar recently, and you wonder why you have not been granted the referral credit you seek look no further than here.

The reason you did not get a referral credit is that Zipcar's policy changed recently. When someone is referred to Zipcar, the new member recieves the credit rather than the person referring them.

I have worked in Marketing and Sales for many years now & used Zipcar now for Two. Word of mouth is the most valuable sales tool a company has - it can effortlessly rely on word of mouth to ensure its dynamic growth & success.

Zip car has always done well to look out for its member's best interests while developing services and making changes - it has evlolved in leaps and bounds over the last few years. A token credit to the member doing the referring would only seem appropriately generous to acknowledge the effort. I talk up Zipcar when the opportunity arises like it's my job. While this may seem a wordy and trivial complaint, this customer policy change doesn't make any sense.

Am I alone on this?

I'm with you. Why on earth would I want to add more people to this already over crowded system-- and REWARD them for filling up more slots??? What's in it for me?

What's in it for you? Well..more people doesn't actually mean that the cars are more crowded. It means that they will add more cars, which in my mind is definitly a good thing. :)

I would refer a LOT more people if I got something in return. The old policy seems to make a lot more sense.
