Dear Stacy, There is so much nonsense on the web and elsewhere about St. Mary Magdalen, that you should consult responsible scholarship yourself and read it, rather than being deceived by frauds. For a short summary of the facts and legends, see _Butler's Lives of the Saints: The Complete Edition_, ed. Thurston and Attwater (Westminister MD, 1990), vol. 3, pp. 161-163; and for a fuller account, see Katherine Lugwig Jansen, _The Making of the Magdalen_ (Princeton Univ. Press, 2000), a very fine book. Both have extensive good bibliography. Avoid websites and "Da Vinci Code" trash like the plague.
