Hey, here's some stuff I was wondering about. Without getting into a race/religious/political debate, I've been noticing that a lot of people blame stuff in the media (what exactly, I'm not sure) on Jews and Liberals. I was just kinda wondering. I think that Ted Turner is a liberal, but he's certainly not Jewish (is he?), but every other TV station is owned by a hugeass corporation, right? There's something about hugeass corporations that reeks of Conservatives, so how can anyone say that the liberals "control" the media? Yes, I'm aware that some news programs have a slant (Fox to the right, etc) but don't the two parties balance each other out?

On to the whole Jew issue. What is the deal with everyone saying that the news is fucked up because of a bunch of conniving Jews? I mean, are all Jews Democrats? I don't think so. I can't think of one high-profile Jew that has a great deal of influence on the media. I'm sure there are some, but none of them are prominent enough to attract much attention. Hell, I don't even know who's in charge of NBC, CBS, FOX, etc and even bigger than that, who's in charge of Disney, Comcast, etc. Anybody got any thoughts on this?

What I've always wondered is, you know how people (cough, racists) say the Jews control all the money and own all the big businesses, etc.

Well, what if there was some uber powerful CEO of some company or bank somewhere, who wasn't jewish, and therefore loved, but then got interested in the religion and converted? Wouldn't that be kind of confusing for those who are supposed to hate jews?

I wouldn't call them Christian. It's not very Christian of AOL to help the Chinese government design web filters so their people don't have access to independent media. It's not very Christian of Nike to work Asian kids 18 hours a day for twelve cents an hour. It's not very Christian of Exxon-Mobile and Dole to finance paramilitary death squads in Columbia.

It makes sense tho. AOL gets money from the deal, keeps up 'international support and renown', while China shows how friendly it is with America.

Which in the end, angers the piss out of me, cause poor Cuba needs help, NOT China. And Americas reasons for not dealing with Cuba is because they are Communist... well gee, what the fuck do you think China is.

Well, for the last few decades China has had a lot of privatization. At this point they are really only a communist country in name only. Cuba is pretty much communist though. Say what you want about Castro's government, but you won't find people digging through the dumpster for their next meal a few blocks from the Presidential Palace in Havana...can the same be said for Washington DC?

On a side note, Yahoo and Google have also signed self-cencorship agreements with China's government.
