FBF / Silmoto exhausts question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Has anybody had experience with FBF and Silmoto exhausts (not the stock looking ones). I am considering changing the Casoli ones that I have on at the moment but am not sure if FBF or Silmoto will improve things. I have PCIII fitted and bike dynoed and setup properly so is very smooth. FBF and Silmoto exhausts look the same but am wondering if their internals are different. Is one louder than the other? How loud are they? which ones sound the best? Is there a difference in throttle response between the FBF and Silmoto exhausts? Which of the two produces smoothest power delivery, etc. Many thanks guys.

Yo! A Power Commander might solve your needs instead of changing the exhaust. Cheers!

AJ, I had PCIII fitted and bike dynoed about a month ago and yes it did improve everything a great deal. Have been curious with regards FBF/Silmoto and was looking for more information. I have been told that they FBF and Silmoto are identical and that noise is not that pleasant. In fact the Casoli exhausts I have on are probably best option at the moment.

Yo! sorry mate for the mistake. didn't notice that word 'coz am writing so fast it skipped my eyes as well (just kidding!). I am using an RG3 cans and planning to put a bigger airbox & airdam from QB carbon, 13-teether before putting on a Power Commander & work on that dyno graph. The QB's claim another 5hp, while the RG3 claims another 5hp as well. Don't know how true they are, but am still trying to get pass my friends' 998S. maybe next time I ride with him, i'd pinch on his tires a little bit to get a go-go ha ha ha ! Cheers!

I know what you mean. I'm curious to find out what you think of QB's airbox and the dyno results. I have sent you an e-mail attaching my dyno chart. The results are for Casoli exhausts before and after fitting PCIII. You should easily get extra 5HP with RG3 & PCIII, maybe more. I have the same problem with a mate on an SP-1 (Yoshi race cans and PC). The main problem is torque SP & 998 nail us on that but that's what you get with a twin but once we start flowing he can't keep up it's only out of corners onto straights that his torque allows him to catch up! But you know what...screw it!! F4 any day over Duke's, SP's, Aprillia's etc.!! Safe riding mate.

these are the ones that your are talking about as far as the sil- moto pipes right?

are these obnoxiously loud?

anyone have a sound clip of them?

Yep, they're the ones. Apparently very, very loud. But I think I'll be sticking with my Casoli revamped exhausts.

Hi, I have a set of Silmotor titanium exhausts fitted to my F4, fitted a chip supplied by Powerhouse (not sure exactly what). Did it at the same time as changing back sprocket up 2 teeth, so not sure what the pipes and chip did alone, but the bike is just SSSSSoooooo much better.

Un terms of the Silmotors, they are great, so light, easily cleaned and the noise is to die for! Yest they are noisy, but far from unpleasent! It seems they are much louder inside your helmet somehow - reverberations, but listening to the bike from the side they are awsome!
