Short form or long form for annulment?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Hi,

I'm confused about which form I will have to follow...I was Lutheran when I married a Lutheran in a Lutheran church. Before we were divorced, but separated, I converted to Catholicism, he's still Lutheran.

I want my marriage annuled...does that mean a short form or long form?

I know there is a large difference between the two and my ex-husband is one to prolong the process and protest against anything, a very emotionally-abusive person.

Thanks in advance, Amy Foster

There is no "short form" and "long form" as such. Your ex-husband, like yourself, will be given the opportunity to provide input in writing, with a specific deadline for submission of such material. The tribunal will then consider all testimony and other evidence which has been submitted, and reach a determination. Just as in other types of judicial procedings, cases which are clearcut and straightforward reach their conclusion relatively quickly. Cases which involve complex issues requiring additional investigation take longer.
