On the 29th of September, 2004, I had a new glow plug harness installed on the Jetta by Sam Hopkins, hoping it would get rid of the check engine light which has been on for many months. It did not get rid of the light.

It either needs a new glow relay @ $110 or there are one or more bad glow plugs.

The scan codes are P1256 and P0380

Will investigate when time permits.
