Wonder why married friends always seem to set you up with dates just like your ex ?

I had this happen to me a couple weeks ago. A couple whom my ex and I used to socialize with invited me to their cabin for a bonfire cookout and to meet a woman "they thought I might like". Turned out the woman had a personality very much as my ex when I first met her in 1995. Worst part was my hosts kept pointing this out. While I'm sure they were trying to compare this woman to the "good years" of my married life, I could only find myself seeing the similiarities and recalling the far from perfect end of my marriage. Of course, I came home and havent contacted the woman or the couple since.

How do the rest of you handle set up situations such as this?

A person needs to go by their own feelings but maybe you being hurt from your last marriage is clouding your judgement with this new gal , who probably felt hurt by you not contacting her again .Kind of like passing the hurt onto someone else .

I got fixed up by a friend to find the one he fixed me up with had a fiance out of state .I think the lady wanted to see which man had the better toys , house and cash to give her .Luckily for me , the other guy won the contest
