On October 6, we members of the Catholic Church family honor, in a special way, the following friends of God -- "saints" and "blesseds" whose souls are now in heaven:

St. Bruno of Cologne (German, priest, teacher, hermit, founder of Order of the Carthusians, died at about age 71 in 1101 [canonized 1623])

Bl. Adalbero of Lambach (Austrian, nobleman, bishop of Wurzburg, monk, died at about age 45 in 1090 [beatified 1883])
St. Aurea of Amiens (French, abbess, 8th century)
St. Baithen of Iona (Irish, abbot, died at about age 63 c. 600)
St. Ceollach (Irish, bishop, 7th century)
St. Epiphania of Pavia (Italian, Benedictine nun, d. 800)
St. Faith of Agen (French, virgin, tortured and martyred by beheading c. 304)
St. Francis Tran Von Trung of Phan-xa (Vietnamese, soldier, martyred by beheading at about age 32 in 1858 [beatified 1909, canonized 1988])
Bl. Isidore of St. Joseph de Loor of Vrasene (Belgian, Passionist brother, died at age 35 [cancer] in 1916 [beatified 1984])
St. Magnus of Venice (Italian, bishop of Oderzo, c. 660)
Bl. Marie Rose Durocher of Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu (Canadian, co-foundress of Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, died on her 38th birthday in 1849 [beatified 1982])
St. Mary Frances of the Five Wounds of Christ Gallo of Naples [Maria Francesca delle Cinque Piaghe] [baptized and confirmed Anna Maria Rosa Nicoletta] (Italian, virgin, rectory housekeeper, Franciscan tertiary, stigmatist, mystic, spiritual counselor, died at age 76 in 1791 [beatified 1843, canonized 1867])
St. Mummolinus of Constance (Scottish, monk, bishop in France, c.686)
St. Nicetas of Constantinople (Paphlagonian [from part of what is now Turkey], courtier, monk, opponent of iconoclast heresy, 9th century)
St. Pardulphus of Sardent (French, Benedictine abbot, d. 728)
St. Sagar of Laodicea (Phrygian [from part of what is now Turkey], bishop, martyred in 175)
Holy Martyrs of Trier (German, very large number of Christians martyred c. 304)
