Urgent Prayer Request- Thanks

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Urgent prayer and a lot of prayer is needed for my husband and his daughter: John Arellano and Brandy Arellano. He will take her mom to court October 20th and she will decide whether or not she wants to see him. She is 15 and my husband has tried to see her and has paid his child support but her mom has not let him see her even though by a court order many years ago she was suppose to let him see Brandy. Her mom and grandma possibly hate John just because of the past disagreements they have had and want to continue to hurt John by convincing his daughter not to see him. There will be character witnesses and Brandy will hear both sides. Her granma and mother will speak and so will John and his good friend as well as the wife- me. She lives with her mom and grandma so this might hurt our situation. Help us with our prayers for Brandy to see clearly that John loves her and truly wants to see her just as much as in the past when he couldn't due to her mom and granma's hatred. Thank you.

I will pray for you and your family situation. I think its terrible to use a child as a "pawn".

Sonya,

You, John, and Brandy are in my prayers. Consider asking some of these saints for prayer:

Patrons of Children Whose Parents Were Not Married
Patrons of Divorced People
Patrons of Desperate Causes
Patrons of Teenaged Children

God bless you.

Well today at 1 pm is the big court day. My husband will either get to see his daughter or not. Thanks for all your prayers and keep them up for we will need them. I gave a post on October 5th and now it is already the 20th. I am dreading this. Pray for us. I have been praying with my husband but am still going nuts on trying to figure out what to say about John being a good father and husband. I have some ideas, but the judge will decide if they are good enough and his daughter will decide if she even wants to listen. Good grief!

Dear Sonya: count on my family's prayer for all of you. May the Lord show all of you the right way to go on this matter.

Well I am sorry to say that Brandy decided not to see my husband even before the trial. The judge took her in private chambers and spoke with her and that was the results. The judge told John that he admired him though and knows he is leading a good life. The judge suggested that he send her a letter or card for special days and maybe one day when she is older she may think that John is an o.k. person and want to see him on her own. It is kind of dissappointing, but that is what happened. Thanks for all your kind words.

With God all things are possible. I will continue to pray for this situation.

Thanks for your continued prayers. I think my husband could use as many as he can. He told me that he was hurt by what had happened, although he still has hope for the future.

Sonya, any updates? How are things? You are in my prayers.

God bless,

Hi Emily, Things are still kind of slow in the healing process, I think, for John. He doesn't talk about it though, but I know he keeps praying about his situation. He wants to send his daughter some letters to at least let her know that she can always change her mind if she would like, but he is afraid that they won't get to her. Her mom and grandmother still hate John and they would probably tear them up. I just hope that at least a few get to her. Thanks for your prayers.
