DCC wiring for Fleischmann turntable

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Wiring for DCC : One Thread

I'm new to DCC and am contemplating the installation of a Fleischmann turntable. I intend to operate the table in conjunction with a TTX PSRev unit. I'm fairly clear on how to wire everything except the power leads for the motor drive unit. The directions with the unit suggest the black and white leads should be connected to the the AC outputs of a power pack having 12-14V/0,5A. How does this translate to DCC? I'm running a Lenz system. Do I just connect the leads to my main track current wires, or do I need a separate power source? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the motor leads need to go to a separate power supply power supply as specified by the manufacturer. I am not familiar with the Fleischmann turntable but I assume that there is a control device that receives the power on the black/white leads you describe and controls the speed and direction of the turntable.

The PSRev is used to provide track power only and ensures that the polarity is correct for the turntable bridge position and orientation.
