Thought Provocative Comments.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Ask Jesus : One Thread

I would like to have this thread as a resavoir of thought provoking or inspiring discussions. The idea is for us to express our thoughts, opinions, and beliefs in regards to the statements posted here. If anything, our response to those comments may reveal our true understandings in terms of being superstitious, scientific, or faithful. I don't know how we could prove any of this in tangible or definitive evidence, maybe we can, I don't know.

Well here goes.....

I found my dictionary.

Well, in response to Comment Number 1....

The comment demands a person to consider their faith, superstition, or science as the source of their views. I think the comment is trying to say that we are merely animate objects limited to our environment. It seems to be inferring that we are not of spirit. Well, absence of brain waves via monitoring devices kind of makes us survivors feel like dead is dead. Who is gonna come back and tell us that our bodies are only containers filled with a spirit? Of course, we already believe that and don't really need any visitations from the other side. Do we?

Oops! I read Comment Number 1 wrong. It is out of context that I used the comment. A scientist may have argued that we are not of the spirit because the spirit cannot be measured and therefore cannot be proven to exist. In other words, the comment, in its context, was probably trying to make an absurd statement.

Comment Number 2 reminds me of faith and works as jointly produced.
