Comfortable crocheted socks.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ACountryPlace : One Thread

I'm think once again about keeping warm. For those who crochet here, I thought I'd mention that i have found that the secret to comfortable socks is the use of baby yarn, and a small needle. Slippers are comfortable with large yarn, because they are not enclosed in a shoe. However, in order for sock to be comfortable at least the soles must use tiny stitches, and tiny yarn.

Oh I was so glad to read this hint as I love crocheted socks and slippers but they hurt the bottom of my feet, so I"m getting ready to follow your advise on the next pair I crochet.

Sounds great. I always have had trouble with socks being uncomfortable. Now maybe my wife can make comfortable ones.

Thanks.

Although I don't crochet, my sister does. I'm going to pass this hint along to her, since she's been making hunting socks for her son and husband. Bet they'll appreciate something more comfortable!

Thank you for sharing!
