If humans wanted to select one writer as being a model or pattern of excellence, who would they choose?

Who had a perfect style? Who had total command of the English language? Whose ideas were extremely original?

In order to answer the questions, one of said humans could sample messages on a USENET message thread in the year 2004. Compare clarity of expression and spelling with authors of the past.
