How to only choose one language when converting Movie VCD to MPG

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I know how to convert a VCD to MPG (and then convert it to DVD). However, many Chinese VCD's have the left audio Cantonese, and Right audio Mandarin. When the VCD is converted to MPG, it has both languages at the same time. How to fix that problem, anyone?

You will need an audio of editor of some kind. This is how I have done something similar to what you want to do. I open CoolEdit and use the Batch Convert command to save the audio file so that it is 100% left channel and 0% right channel (or vice-versa if you prefer) and configure it to produce a mono output file. If you don't have an audio editor, http://www.doom9.net has some audio programs in the Downloads section that are free. BeSweet might be able to be configured to do something like this.
